Bringing Together The Grassroots

On June 6th, the campaign team of Matt Altheim hosted a Grassroots Conservative BBQ as a thank you and as a welcome to new Conservatives. We were happy that the weather held up and that it only rained for a brief period. A large number of active Conservatives and new Conservative members showed up to enjoy food, hot political discussion, and the future of the Edmonton-East riding.

Much of the discussion centred around the current status of the riding and our mission to make sure it stays Conservative blue. Another hot topic was the riding of Edmonton-Strathcona which is under a nomination battle of 3 potential hopefulls: Ryan Hatsman, Linda Blade, and Cathay Wagantail. It was exciting to have Linda Blade stop by the BBQ and speak with her; she is a real solid candidate with strong policy and the edge to beat NDP Linda Duncan in the next election.

We would like to thank all our volunteers and friends for making the past few months such a fun and enjoyable experience and for the continued help in the future. The grassroots makes the party and we hope that it will always continue in this fashion.
